Turkmenistan to take part in first North-South transport forum in Aktau

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 12. Turkmenistan will take part in the first North-South Transport Trade and Export Forum in Aktau on July 19–20, which will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin,TurkicWorld reports.

According to the official source, the forum will be attended by representatives of government agencies and public-private organizations, business circles, railway administrations, manufacturers, exporters, transport, and logistics companies from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Belarus, India, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Syria, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Armenia.

Participants in the North-South Transport Trade and Export Forum will have a lot on their plate as they dive into discussions about the nitty-gritty of railway and automobile routes, the ins and outs of port development, and various other logistics matters.

Furthermore, the exhibition 'Trade and Export Potential of Kazakhstan' will be organized on the sidelines of the forum.

At the same time, at the forum organized by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, participants in the event will also be able to hold talks and visit the ports of Aktau and Kuryk.

Meanwhile, the North-South Transport Corridor was founded on an international agreement signed on September 12, 2000, by Russia, Iran, and India. The agreement has been ratified by 13 nations in total (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Armenia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Sultanate of Oman, Russia, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Ukraine).
