Azerbaijan's parliamentary election to level playing field for candidates

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan should ensure equal campaigning conditions for all candidates, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department for Territorial and Organizational Issues of the Administration Zeynal Naghdaliyev said at a meeting for chairmen of district election commissions at the CEC, TurkicWorld reports.

He claims that this matter has been communicated to the local executive authorities.

"We anticipate finishing these tasks by August 9," Naghdaliyev said.

The assistant to the President noted that one of the most crucial issues is the clarification of voter lists.

"Relevant structures should continue the process. Today the number of voters has increased by 22.2 percent. This is the data as of June 28," he added.

To note, on June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
