Turkey, Pakistan ties stronger than ever under Erdogan-Khan leadership

Ties between Turkey and Pakistan are experiencing somewhat of a golden age recently as the two fraternal countries continue to strengthen relations under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

It’s sufficient to monitor the content regularly posted on Turkish daily Yeni Şafak to realize the full depth of the booming ties between the two Muslim countries as Ankara and Pakistan have adopted a stance to mutually support each other on the global stage.

Throughout the years, Ankara was one of the most vocal supporters of the Kashmiris as they faced Indian oppression, repeatedly voicing its support for Kashmir in the international arena, and calling for a just solution to the decades-old crisis.

Recently, Baku, long a fraternal country, has joined the pact, coming on full display when Pakistan, the only country in the world that hasn’t recognized Armenia as a state, unequivocally supported Azerbaijan’s right to liberate its lands and defend itself against Armenian aggression in the Second Kharabkh War in 2020. Turkish and Pakistani flags fluttered alongside Azerbaijani ones in the capital Baku as residents celebrated victory in the 44-day war as a show of gratitude that further solidified the trilateral pact that has gained momentum under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

The future is ripe for further cooperation between the three fraternal countries as they become a force to be reckoned with on the regional and global stage.
