BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Almaz Turgunbaev met with Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan Abdul Haidari in Kabul, TurkicWorld reports via Kabar.
As reported by the department, during the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of transport cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. In order to expand international cargo transportation, the Kyrgyz side proposed to exchange 1,000 permit forms by 2026, and the Afghan side supported this proposal.
In turn, the Afghan side proposed to conclude a bilateral agreement on transit, and the Kyrgyz side expressed its readiness to consider the draft of the proposed agreement in the established manner.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side drew attention to the need to ensure the security of cargo transportation, and also expressed its interest in developing transit transportation through the territory of Afghanistan to Iran and Pakistan.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a joint transport commission and noted the importance of maintaining a permanent dialogue.
