Kyrgyzstan’s budget receive almost KGS 679M from fight against smuggling

The State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan summarized the results of activities for 9 months of 2024, the press service of the bode said Friday.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, the anti-smuggling units of the Customs Service revealed 5,438 facts of offenses and crimes in the field of customs legislation.

In addition, 379 materials on the facts of customs offenses were transferred, on which the damage to the amount of KGS 282,698,140 was compensated.

The amount of additional revenues for 9 months of 2024 to the budget of the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to KGS 678.8 million.

Regarding the issue of combating illicit drug trafficking, customs officers with the assistance of law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic revealed 38 facts of drug crimes.

The Customs Service reported that 22 kg 399 grams of marijuana, 39 kg 980 grams of hashish, 2 kg 354 grams of opium were seized from the illegal turnover. In addition, psychotropic substances, precursors and hazardous waste were detected and seized.

Following the results of the operative meeting, Chairman of the Customs Service Samat Isabekov noted that to date, effective work is carried out to combat smuggling and violations of customs rules, recognizing the work of law enforcement units of the Service at the end of 9 months of 2024 as positive.

Meanwhile, Isabekov urged to strengthen the work of the customs authorities in terms of detection of violations and crimes, to carry out preventive work with participants of foreign economic activity in order to prevent the illegal import and export of goods and vehicles.
