BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Azerbaijan pins hope on the swift completion of the communication project connecting the Eastern Zangezur with Nakhchivan, the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the "3+3" platform in Istanbul today, TurkicWorld reports.
According to him, since the restoration of independence, Azerbaijan has been carrying out mutually beneficial cooperation with the states of the region, taking into account mutual respect and balance of interests, as a result of which a number of projects of regional and global importance are being implemented, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, the North-South Corridor.
The minister expressed hope that joint projects will also cover Nakhchivan, in particular the speedy completion of communications connecting the Eastern Zangezur economic region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan through the territory of Iran.
The last meeting of Foreign Ministers in the "3+3" format was held in Tehran on October 23 last year. Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia, Türkiye, and Armenia - Jeyhun Bayramov, Sergey Lavrov, Hakan Fidan, and Ararat Mirzoyan also took part in the meeting in the "3+3" format.
