Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district residents honor martyrs of 44-Day patriotic war

AGHDAM, Azerbaijan, September 27. The residents of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district gathered to honor the martyrs on September 27 – the Day of Remembrance, TurkicWorld reports.

Families of the martyrs, veterans, and local officials attended the event, including Aghdam District Executive Authority Head Vagif Hasanov, heads of law enforcement agencies, administrations, enterprises, and organizations, religious figures, public representatives, and district residents.

Participants observed a moment of silence at the monument dedicated to the martyrs, reflecting on their sacrifices for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

Following the ceremony, attendees visited the Alley of Martyrs in Guzanly, where speeches highlighted the unity and strength of the Azerbaijani people during the war.

At 12:00 (GMT+4) in the Aghdam district and across the nation, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the martyrs.

In accordance with President Ilham Aliyev’s Order dated December 2, 2020, as a sign of deep respect for Azerbaijani soldiers and officers, all the martyrs, who fought heroically in the 44-day Patriotic War, and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the country, September 27 was declared as the Day of Remembrance in Azerbaijan every year.
