Azerbaijan building several large reservoirs in its liberated Aghdam

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Four reservoirs are being constructed in the territory of Azerbaijan's Aghdam district, TurkicWorld reports.

In accordance with the Great Return plan, all infrastructure destroyed during the Armenian occupation is being restored in the city.

The Azerbaijani State Water Resources Agency is carrying out large-scale water management work in Aghdam.

As part of the project "Construction of the external water supply, sewerage, and stormwater drainage system for settlements in the liberated territories," work on the water supply and sewerage systems of the city is being conducted quickly, intensively, and systematically.

Mahir Hamidov, a technical control engineer, provided information about the progress of the work, stating that the construction of two reservoirs with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters and two reservoirs with a capacity of 7,500 cubic meters is ongoing under the external water supply project for Aghdam.

"The reinforced concrete work for one chamber of the 10,000-cubic-meter reservoir is nearing completion, and concrete has been poured for the foundation of the second chamber. It can be said that 80 percent of the construction is complete. The reinforced concrete work for the 7,500-cubic-meter reservoir is also nearing completion," he emphasized.

Hamidov also mentioned that the construction of the main line from Garagaya is ongoing, with 6.5 kilometers of the nine-kilometer main line completed.

Polyethylene water pipes with a diameter of 710 mm are being laid to connect both reservoirs to the city network. Of the 2,500 meters of pipes to be laid from the reservoirs to the city network, 2,332 meters have been completed.

At the same time, the construction of the sewer collector is also ongoing. Out of the six-kilometer line, 1.8 kilometers have been constructed.

The construction of one of the two sub-artesian wells has begun.

In the liberated territories, residents—former displaced persons—are being engaged in the restoration work, and their proposals during the project implementation are being taken into account.

The reconstruction of the water management system in Aghdam is expected to improve the quality of life for residents returning to their ancestral homes, both now and in the future.

Following the liberation of Azerbaijani territories, great reconstruction and restoration activities have been launched there. Thus, Sugovushan (Aghdara district) and Khachinchay reservoirs, as well as the Kondalanchay (Fuzuli district) water reservoir complex, have been commissioned after repair and restoration.
