Third People's Kurultai to be held in Kyrgyz capital

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree “On holding another the Third People's Kurultai”.

The press service of the Kyrgyz president reported that in order to further strengthen the foundations of people's power, national consciousness, unity and harmony of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic, consolidation of civil society, sustainable development of the country, in accordance with the articles of the constitutional law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the People's Kurultai”, it is decreed:

1. To appoint another the Third People's Kurultai (hereinafter - People's Kurultai) to be held in Bishkek on Dec. 20, 2024.

2. To approve the distribution of quotas of 700 (seven hundred) delegates of the People's Kurultai according to the annex.

3. The Cabinet of Ministers together with the Presidential Affairs Department of the Kyrgyz Republic shall take appropriate measures arising from this Decree.

4 The organization of the election of delegates to the People's Kurultai shall be entrusted to the Organizing Committee for holding another the Third People's Kurultai and coordination of work on the election of delegates, the Secretariat of the People's Kurultai, governors of oblasts, local state administrations, local self-government bodies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, as well as the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan (by agreement).

5. The Ministry of Internal Affairs should take measures to protect public order and security during the organization and conduct of the election of delegates in the field.

6. To recognize as null and void:

- Decree of the President “On holding the People's Kurultai” dated Aug. 29, 2023 No. 215;

- Decree of the President “On Amendments to the Presidential Decree ‘On Holding the People's Kurultai’ dated Aug. 29, 2023” No. 324 dated Nov. 29, 2023.
