Kyrgyzstan to purchase breeding bulls from Europe

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan actively supports farmers by providing them with high-quality seedlings and improvement of animal breeds in accordance with the decree of President Sadyr Zhaparov on the development of the agro-industrial complex.

An inventory of nurseries has been carried out from 2023 to 2024, and 15 farms have been granted the appropriate status for the production of quality planting material, the press service of the Agriculture Ministry reported.

As a result, an opportunity is created to provide gardeners and farmers with high-quality, certified for varietal purity planting material.

It is noted that by 2025 it is expected to supply 11.8 million seedlings of fruit and berry crops.

There are 264 artificial insemination centers in the republic, where 200 thousand cows are planned to be inseminated in 2024. The state station “Elita” already produces 6535 kg of liquid nitrogen to support this process.

Tribal seed material imported by distribution centers from abroad for 2024 amounted to 52,330 doses. The Kyrgyz Research Institute of Livestock and Pastures produced 30,500 doses and provided seed technicians of the republic.

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated KGS 17.6 million to improve the quality of breeding livestock. Pedigree bulls from Europe will be purchased to help increase productivity.

Successes have also been achieved in sheep breeding: 5,000 doses of seeds from a pedigree producer of the “Arashan” breed have been frozen.
