Georgia registers more that twenty parties for parliamentary election

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. The Central Election Commission of Georgia has registered 27 parties to participate in the parliamentary election on October 26, the registration process is complete, the Central Election Commission said in a statement, TurkicWorld reports.

"The process of registering political parties for the October 26 Georgian parliamentary election has been completed. The legal deadline expired on August 30, and by that time 27 parties had been registered with the CEC," the statement says.

The Commission noted that 10 parties, whose representatives were elected based on the results of the last elections, will participate in the election and they did not need to collect signatures of supporters for registration. Of the 30 other parties that submitted at least 25,000 signatures to the Central Election Commission, 17 were successfully registered.

At the next stage, political associations will have to submit party lists by September 26, which must include no less than 30 and no more than 200 candidates for deputies.
