BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola are heading to Israel, the European Commission said, TurkicWorld reports.

The main purpose of the visit is to express solidarity with Israel and familiarize themselves with the situation in the region.

Ursula von der Leyen and Roberta Metsola will hold a series of meetings with the leadership of Israel.

A combined attack was carried out on Israel on the morning of October 7. From the beginning, a massive rocket attack began from the territory of the Gaza Strip, followed by the penetration of militants by land, water, and air.

The attacks by Hamas militants killed more than 1,300 and injured nearly 3,300 Israelis.
