Earthquake hits Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 20. An earthquake measuring 3.5 points at the epicenter was registered in Kyrgyzstan, the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan says, TurkicWorld reports.

According to the Institute, the tremors were recorded on August 19 at 17:55 local time. The earthquake's epicenter was located 6 km north of the village of Uch-Terek, 7 km southeast of the village of Tortkent, 8 km northwest of the village of Kara-Jygach, 25 km southeast of the regional center of Toktogul.

In the populated areas of Kyrgyzstan, the intensity of the earthquake in the villages of Uch-Terek, Tortkent, Kara-Jygach was about three points.
