Kazakhstan’s Meirim Nursultanov was named the Best Middleweight Boxer 2023 at the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Kazinform cites Vesti.kz.
It was announced at the WBO Convention in the Dominican Republic this week.
Nursultanov has recently topped the BoxRec P4P rankings following the steps of another boxing great from Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin who dominated the rankings for several years in a row.
The Kazakhstani was last seen in action against Japanese Kazuto Takesako in April in South Korea. Nursultanov KOed Takesako in the 8th round, claiming the WBO International Middle title.
