Turkic stone memory revived: 'Signs of Eternity' movie begins screening

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The film “Signs of Eternity: The Turkic World in Symbols”,produced by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, is now available on the TurkDiscovery YouTube platform TurkicWorld reports.

The TurkDiscovery YouTube platform, which reflects the spiritual world of Turkic peoples and their historical unity, is expanding its educational mission through YouTube. The platform serves as a bridge between generations, presenting viewers with the timeless traces of the Turkic spirit.

As part of the educational mission of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the documentary film “Signs of Eternity: The Turkic World in Symbols” has been created, and its first episode has already been released.

The main goal of the project is to visualize the shared historical memory of the Turkic world through petroglyphs, tamgas, and runic alphabets spread across the vast territory of the Turkic world. The film tells the story of sacred places that preserve the breath of millennia and the traces of identity carved in stone.

The first episode of “Signs of Eternity: The Turkic World in Symbols” reconstructs the scientific and cultural picture of Turkic heritage across a vast region – from the shores of the Caspian Sea to the plains of Karabakh in Azerbaijan. Filming carried out in various ancient locations reveals the mysteries of tamgas, which are considered a kind of “passport” of the Turkic peoples.

With the participation of experts, the film provides detailed explanations of important topics related to the symbols carved into the stone memory of Turkic tribes (Kayı, Afshars, Seljuks, Kipchaks, and others). The project also demonstrates that ancient petroglyphs, kurgans, and stone balbals in Azerbaijan are an integral part of the unified cultural code of the greater Turkic world, stretching from Altai to Anatolia.
