SOCAR, Honeywell ink agreement to advance energy industry automation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the US-based corporation Honeywell have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at automating the energy industry and advancing the energy transition, TurkicWorld reports via SOCAR.

The agreement focuses on supporting the digitalization of the energy sector, reducing emissions, enhancing safety, and implementing innovative solutions. The signing took place during a meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and a delegation led by Anant Maheshwari, President and CEO of Honeywell's Global High Growth Regions.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with their longstanding and effective collaboration, highlighting joint projects such as the construction of the STAR Oil Refinery and the modernization of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery.

During the meeting, discussions included Azerbaijan's green energy policy and ongoing projects aimed at developing renewable energy sources. The parties also explored opportunities for cooperation in industrial digitalization, sustainable development, the energy transition, human capital development, and joint participation in international events focused on renewable energy.
