BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani met with US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Near East and Central Asia Affairs Michael DiMino IV during his visit to Qatar.
The two officials discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and reviewed ways to strengthen and develop defence cooperation between Qatar and the United States.
The meeting focused on bilateral coordination and opportunities to further expand cooperation in areas related to defence and security.
Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces Major General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai and a number of senior officers from both sides attended the meeting.
The talks reflect continued defence and security coordination between Doha and Washington.
