BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. Kuwait has strongly condemned a reported Houthi drone attack targeting Mecca, describing the incident as a “cowardly and reprehensible act” and an “affront to Muslims everywhere”.
In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and praised the country’s air defence forces for intercepting the drone before it could reach its reported target.
Kuwait also stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is closely linked to the security of Kuwait and other Gulf states, highlighting the broader regional concerns surrounding the incident.
The Houthis, however, have denied targeting the holy site in Mecca.
