Israeli military claims Hamas commander targeted in attack on Gaza hospital complex

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. The Israeli military says it targeted an alleged commander in Hamas’s military wing in a drone attack on the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex in Deir el-Balah, central Gaza.

In a statement following the attack, the Israeli army claimed that the strike targeted a Hamas military wing commander.

The military did not disclose the identity of the person it said was targeted and provided no evidence to substantiate its claim.

According to reports from the ground, an Israeli drone targeted a tent located inside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex.

The number of casualties was initially unclear following the attack.

The director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital later said that three Palestinians were injured in the strike.

“The strike was conducted in order to remove the threat posed,” the Israeli military claimed in its statement.

No further details were provided about the alleged threat or the condition of the three people injured in the attack.
