BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. Senior officials from Qatar and Egypt have met in the northwestern Egyptian city of El-Alamein for the seventh preparatory session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee ahead of its official meeting on Thursday.
The Qatari delegation was led by Nayef Al-Emadi, director of the Arab Affairs Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Egyptian delegation was headed by Ihab Fahmy, Egypt’s assistant foreign minister for Arab affairs.
During the session, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and highlighted the importance of continued consultations between Doha and Cairo on regional and international developments.
Officials from both countries also praised their joint efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and contributing to stability and sustainable peace. The preparatory session forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and cooperation between Qatar and Egypt.
