GCC condemns Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia's Najran region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia's Najran region, which reportedly injured several civilians.

In a statement, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi described the strike as "an act of terror" that violates both international law and international humanitarian law.

Albudaiwi stressed that Saudi Arabia's security is inseparable from the security of all GCC member states, reaffirming the organization's full support for the Kingdom's efforts to protect its borders, sovereignty and independence.

The statement comes amid renewed cross-border tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi movement.

Saudi authorities have not yet released updated information on the condition of those injured.
