BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy Rayed Krimly has said the newly announced Saudi Arabia–Turkiye–Pakistan defence pact is not intended to create a military alliance or a sectarian bloc, rejecting speculation about the agreement's strategic objectives.
In a post on X, Krimly said the agreement "does not represent any intention to build a military axis or a sectarian/religious bloc."
He stressed that the pact is not linked to nuclear ambitions or an arms race, but is instead aimed at developing sustainable and self-reliant defence capabilities.
Krimly also emphasized that the agreement does not undermine Saudi Arabia's strategic relations with Gulf, Arab or international partners, does not replace existing international agreements, and poses no threat to the security of any country.
The remarks come amid growing regional and international attention following the announcement of the trilateral defence cooperation agreement.
