BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) says the Israeli military launched 113 projectiles toward southern Lebanon on Wednesday, marking a significant increase in military activity.
According to UNIFIL, this was the highest number of projectiles recorded in a single day since June 21, just days before Israel and Lebanon reached the June 26 "pilot zone" withdrawal agreement.
The UN peacekeeping mission said the incident represents the largest single-day violation of Lebanese airspace since that period.
UNIFIL continues to monitor developments along the Blue Line and has repeatedly called on all parties to exercise restraint and uphold existing agreements.
The Israeli military had not immediately commented on the UNIFIL statement.
