BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss bilateral cooperation and the latest developments in the Middle East.
According to a statement issued by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers reviewed cooperation between their countries and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The talks also focused on recent regional developments, including ongoing diplomatic efforts and coordination aimed at reducing tensions and promoting security and stability.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of all parties adhering to dialogue and diplomacy, while calling for the implementation of the U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, including provisions ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Qatari foreign minister also reaffirmed Doha's support for all initiatives aimed at easing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement that would contribute to lasting peace in the region.
