BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that he will meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Manila, Philippines, on Thursday. The talks are expected to focus on the wars in Ukraine and the Gulf region.
Lavrov told reporters, “The meeting will be useful in any case. It’s good to ask questions and get answers.”
The meeting will take place on the sidelines of an ASEAN gathering of Southeast Asian foreign ministers in Manila.
Moscow has condemned Washington’s recent attacks on Iran, highlighting ongoing tensions between the two countries.
