BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. British driver George Russell has secured pole position for the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix after topping the qualifying session.
The Mercedes driver delivered the fastest lap of the session to start the race from the front of the grid.
TurkicWorld reports that ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton followed closely behind with competitive lap times, finishing near the top of the standings.
Championship leader Kimi Antonelli qualified in fourth place and will start the race from the second row.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen crashed during qualifying and was forced to exit the session early.
Russell is also under investigation over a potential breach of yellow flag regulations during his final flying lap.
