Saudi FM arrives in Bahrain to participate in GCC-US meeting

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Bahrain to attend a meeting of ministers from the GCC and US TurkicWorld reports via arabnews.

The gathering will focus on strategic cooperation and common priorities, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meeting comes less than a week after the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding to halt their war that engulfed the Middle East for over 100 days and affected several GCC capitals.

Prince Faisal was received in Manama by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. Also present were Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, the Saudi ambassador to Bahrain, and officials from Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Kuwait, where he participated in a flag-raising ceremony at the US Embassy, which resumed operations on Wednesday.

He also visited Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to discuss the Iran deal during a meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed.

Also on Wednesday, Prince Faisal spoke with Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev to congratulate him on the election of his country as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027–2028 term.

In a separate call, Prince Faisal discussed regional developments with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
