Hamas calls for resistance against West Bank settlement expansion plans

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has urged Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, particularly in the Jenin area, to confront Israeli settlement and land seizure activities.

TurkicWorld reports that in remarks shared via Hamas’s Telegram channel, Mardawi said that land confiscation measures, demolition orders, and construction bans targeting homes, agricultural land, and economic facilities in Silat ad-Dhahr, south of Jenin, require what he described as a serious response to deter further actions.

He warned that silence in the face of such developments could lead to a “catastrophic situation” for local residents and farmers, claiming that these measures threaten Palestinian presence in the West Bank.

Mardawi also expressed confidence in West Bank residents, stating that they have long resisted occupation and defended their land and property amid ongoing tensions.

The statement comes amid continued reports of settlement expansion, demolitions, and clashes across various parts of the occupied West Bank.
