Lebanon Hezbollah southern Lebanon peace agreement Israeli attacks Hassan Fadlallah US-Iran deal

Hezbollah MP says Lebanon to be included in any US-Iran deal

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah stated that any peace agreement between the United States and Iran would involve Lebanon, regardless of whether the Lebanese government consents. Speaking at a ceremony in Beirut honoring fallen fighters, Fadlallah criticized the government’s direct negotiations with Israel, arguing they brought no relief to southern Lebanon amid ongoing Israeli attacks.

TurkicWorld reports that he emphasized that Hezbollah supports diplomacy “grounded in strength” through indirect negotiations, and that Lebanon’s government is attempting discussions with Israel on matters it cannot deliver. Earlier in June, Israel and Lebanon agreed on a ceasefire requiring a complete cessation of fire by Hezbollah after US-led talks in Washington, DC.

Fadlallah asserted that facing an existential war targeting Lebanon, the group will continue to resist, endure, and stand firm despite costs and sacrifices.
