BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. The Israeli navy has detained nine Palestinian fishermen while they were working at sea near Gaza City and Deir el-Balah, according to Wafa. The arrested fishermen were reportedly taken to an unknown location, the fishermen’s committees said.
TurkicWorld reports that these arrests are part of ongoing violations against Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip, which include arrests, shootings, and confiscation of equipment.
Gaza has been under an Israeli land, sea, and air blockade since 2007. Restrictions have intensified following Israel’s ongoing offensive that began in October 2023.
