Gaza death toll rises to 72,980, Health Ministry says

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. The death toll from the war in Gaza has risen to at least 72,980 people, while 173,171 others have been wounded since October 7, 2023, according to the latest figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry.

TurkicWorld reports that in its most recent update, the ministry reported that hospitals across the Gaza Strip received nine bodies and treated 43 injured people during the past 24 hours.

The ministry also stated that since a ceasefire took effect in October last year, Israeli military actions have resulted in the deaths of 970 Palestinians and injuries to 3,063 others.

The latest figures come as humanitarian organizations continue to express concern over the situation in Gaza, where ongoing hostilities have placed significant pressure on the territory’s healthcare system and civilian population.
