BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16.The UAE has clarified the reasons behind its new energy policy decision.
The UAE Minister of Energy, Suhail Al Mazrouei, stated that the country's decision to withdraw from OPEC and OPEC+ was made based on national interests and a long-term energy strategy.
TurkicWorld reports that the minister made the statement on his social media account. He noted that the decision was taken following a comprehensive assessment of the country's national production policy and future energy production capacity.
According to the minister, the main objective of the decision is to maintain the UAE’s position as a reliable energy supplier and continue its commitment to stability in the global energy market.
Suhail Al Mazrouei emphasized that the move is not politically motivated and should not be interpreted as a sign of disagreement between the UAE and its partner countries.
He added that the country's decisions are shaped by national interests and strategic vision rather than external interpretations and speculation.
