BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. Peter Magyar says representatives would not take offices in House of Representatives building, calling it headquarters of former secret police, TurkicWorld reports via Anadolu Agency.
Hungarian Prime Minister-elect Peter Magyar confirmed plans on Thursday to unveil "communist-era domestic intelligence" files.
"The incoming TISZA government will open communist-era domestic intelligence files," Magyar wrote on US social media platform X.
Magyar added that Tisza's lawmakers would not take offices in the House of Representatives building, which he described as "the former headquarters of the secret police and the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party during that period."
Balint Ruff, the incoming head of the Prime Minister's Office, said Wednesday that disclosure of the agent files would be among his "initial priorities."
The Tisza party won against Viktor Orban in the April 12 parliamentary elections, ending Orban’s 16-year rule.
Magyar has said he hopes to be sworn in May 9 or 10, depending on the president's decision on when parliament meets.
