Saudi Crown Prince attends 46th GCC meeting in Bahrain

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman participated on Wednesday in the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) being held in the capital Manama, TurkicWorld reports via ArabNews.

The Crown Prince leads the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation at the GCC and will co-chair the fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council.

In the opening speech, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa welcomed the GCC leaders, adding that the summit will discuss regional issues as well as various ways to strengthen GCC solidarity and integration.

Al Khalifa stressed on the importance of completing the agreement of a first-phase ceasefire framework in the Gaza Strip.

GCC Secretary Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi commended the persistent efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye in facilitating the discussions that led to the agreement.

He also praised Saudi Arabia's role in leading international efforts to implement the two-state solution.

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah noted that the GCC overcame complex regional and international circumstances, as he reiterated the GCC condemnation of Israel’s aggression on Qatar. The Emir said Qatar's security remains an integral part of the security of all Gulf countries.

The GCC was founded in 1981 and comprises six members and its headquarters is located in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Bahrain is hosting the leaders of the GCC as member states advance towards a deeper phase of cooperation.

The GCC states have strengthened their standing as a regional power with global influence and expanded partnerships across all sectors.
