Iran Masoud Pezeshkian

Date of presidential inauguration in Iran fixed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The inauguration of newly elected Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian will be held on July 30 in the Iranian parliament, a representative of the Presidium of Iran's parliament, Alireza Selimi said, TurkicWorld reports.

He claims that prominent local and international leaders will be in attendance at the ceremony.

The Iranian parliament requires the newly inaugurated president to brief them on his plans and the government's makeup no later than two weeks following the inauguration. Nominees for ministers will face a vote of confidence this week before their names are sent to parliament.

Representative of the 'reformers' camp Pezeshkian won with almost 16.4 million votes, while his opponent, Saeed Jalili received 13.5 million votes in the second round of the extraordinary presidential election, held in Iran on July 5.

To note, the helicopter flying from Khudaferin to Tabriz with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in Tabriz Muhammad Ali Hashim, and Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malik Rehmati crashed on May 19. The Iranian President and the entire delegation accompanying him died.
