BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The inauguration of newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to take place before August 5, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Tehran today,TurkicWorld reports.
"Preparatory work is currently underway in connection with the inauguration ceremony," he said.
Representative of the 'reformers' camp Pezeshkian won with almost 16.4 million votes, while his opponent Saeed Jalili received 13.5 million votes in the second round of the extraordinary presidential election, held in Iran on July 5.
To recall, the helicopter flying from Khudaferin to Tabriz with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in Tabriz Mohammad Ali Al Hashemi, and Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati crashed on May 19. The Iranian President and the entire delegation accompanying him were dead.
