Uzbekistan reveals volume of commercial banks' deposits

The deposits of Uzbekistan's commercial banks amounted to 265.4 trillion soums ($21 billion) as of July 1, TurkicWorld reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Central Bank, the deposits of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan accounted for 135.6 trillion soums ($10.7 billion) during this period, and other banks' deposits reached 129.7 trillion soums ($10.2 billion).

When it comes to state-owned banks in Uzbekistan, the National Bank of Uzbekistan accounted for the largest volume of deposits with 38 trillion soums ($3 billion). During this period, the country's Xalq bank came in second with a whopping 20.4 trillion soums ($1.6 billion), followed by Aqrobank with 17 trillion soums ($1.3 billion).

Among other banks, the largest volume of deposits falls on Kapitalbank (33.6 trillion soums, or $2.6 billion), followed by Ipoteka bank (20.4 trillion soums, or $1.6 billion) and Hamkor bank (9.7 trillion soums, or $767.7 million).

Meanwhile, the volume of non-performing loans in Uzbekistan's commercial banks amounted to 20 trillion soums ($1.5 billion) as of July 1.
