Central Asia, South Korea develop cooperation

Uza. The International Institute for Central Asia in Tashkent hosted a meeting with the Executive Director of Korea – Central Asia Cooperation Forum Secretariat Rhee Jong Kook.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guest was informed about the activities of the International Institute for Central Asia, the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the results of the rapid development of regional cooperation, the success achieved in relations with Central Asian countries, as well as promising areas of partnership in the CA+ format.

Rhee Jong Kook highly appreciated the current level of cooperation between Korea and the region's countries in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The importance of promoting the initiative of joint work at the level of expert and analytical circles in the “CA+Korea” format was noted. After all, these efforts will undoubtedly have a positive impact on strengthening the partnership between the countries of Central Asia and South Korea.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to promote joint activities to increase mutual understanding and expand cooperation, including workshops, roundtable discussions, and forums.

The secretariat of the Central Asia –Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum was established in 2017 and is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the parties through systematic support for the implementation of projects within the framework of the structure.
