Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday said Ukrainian forces held talks with British Chief of Defense Staff Adm. Tony Radakin and French Armed Forces Chief Gen. Thierry Burkhard to discuss security cooperation and potential deployment of a partner security contingent in Ukraine, TurkicWorld reports citing Anadolu.
“There is tangible progress and initial details regarding how a partner security contingent could be deployed,” Zelenskyy said in a statement on Telegram, expressing gratitude to the UK and France for their leadership and broader international support.
He underlined that the joint efforts were focused on ensuring Ukraine’s security and establishing reliable long-term security guarantees.
“It is precisely this kind of joint work – with everyone focused on a strong result – that helps us bring a durable and lasting peace in Ukraine closer,” he added.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized ongoing international coordination as Kyiv continues to seek more robust security arrangements amid Russia’s full-scale war.
