Uzbekistan, Singapore to establish cooperation in the fight against corruption

Uza. Singapore is a country with extensive experience in the fight against corruption.

Singapore ranked 5th among 180 countries in the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index ranking for 2022.

The purpose of the working visit of the Uzbekistan delegation to Singapore, led by the Director General of the State Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan Akmal Burkhanov, is to establish cooperation between the anti-corruption agencies of the two countries, get acquainted with Singapore's best practices in this area and introduce optimal solutions into national practice.

Meetings are taking place at relevant ministries and agencies.

A meeting with representatives of the Corruption Practices Investigation Bureau and the Prosecutor General's Office of Singapore took place on the first day of the visit.

Talks were held on several important issues such as the formation and implementation of state policy in combating corruption, the role of relevant agencies and prosecutor's offices in this direction, ensuring transparency and accountability of the activities of state bodies, and the system of professional development of civil servants.

The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and establish a regular exchange of experience.
