Uzbekistan – Indonesia: A new stage of cooperation

Uza. Cooperation has been established between Gunadarma University and Bukhara State University.

Recently, teachers and rectors from 90 Indonesian universities visited Bukhara. They also got acquainted with the historical monuments of Tashkent and Samarkand.

Hokim of Bukhara region Botir Zaripov received a delegation led by the Rector of the Indonesian University of Gunadarma, the Ambassador of the Uzbek tourism brand in Indonesia, Eco Sri Margianti. The professor makes an invaluable contribution to the development of cooperation between 30 universities in her country and the higher education institutions of Uzbekistan.

Issues such as implementing innovative tourism projects and ensuring faculty and researchers' participation in scientific and innovative projects were discussed. The parties exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in education and tourism.

Foreign guests visited the center for the development of crafts “Bahouddin Naqshband” created by Akmal Mukhiddinov and took part in master classes. The event organized by Bukhara Regional Department for Tourism Development made a great impression, where national dances, songs, and the anthem of Gunadarma University were played. Uzbek skullcaps and satin shawls were presented to the guests.

Several joint activities have been carried out in accordance with the tasks set by the Head of state during his trip to Bukhara region in 2018 to establish permanent cooperation with Indonesia.

At a meeting with the Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute Shukhrat Teshayev, it was noted that cooperation with one of the largest universities in Asia is beneficial to both sides. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with several Indonesian universities and the LLDIKTI organization.
