BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Doha, focusing on regional developments, security and diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions across the Middle East.
According to a statement posted by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, the two officials reviewed ongoing regional developments and discussed strengthening bilateral coordination to promote de-escalation, security and stability.
The ministry said Qatar reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, urging both the United States and Iran to adhere to diplomatic engagement and implement the commitments outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in June.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that continued diplomatic efforts remain essential to reducing regional tensions and preventing further escalation.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing secure maritime passage as a key element of regional stability and international trade.
The meeting reflects Qatar's ongoing diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners as Doha continues to support political dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional challenges.
