Turkmenistan upgrading LNG storage and shipment terminal on TOPC

Baku. TurkicWorld:

Turkmenistan is working to expand capacities for storage and shipment of liquefied natural gas as part of the modernization of the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex (TOPC), owned by the Turkmennebit State Concern, TurkicWorld reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, Batyr Amanov, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, as a result of oil refining at TOPC, along with various types of petroleum products, liquefied gas is produced for storage and shipment, in which special tanks are used by consumers.

"In order to increase their capacities, the necessary work is underway to expand the volume of the terminal for the transportation, storage, and operation of liquefied petroleum gas located near the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex," he said.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively investing in the development of its liquefied gas industry, as part of which the country is modernizing its production facilities and introducing advanced technologies.

The Turkmengaz State Concern estimates the nation's hydrocarbon resources at over 71 billion tons of oil equivalent. This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
