BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have held a phone conversation focusing on efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed joint efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation and strengthening security and stability across the region.
The two sides also reviewed ways to further develop and strengthen cooperation between Qatar and Türkiye.
During the conversation, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated Doha’s support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at finding a solution to the current regional crisis.
The Qatari foreign minister stressed the importance of reaching an arrangement that guarantees freedom of maritime navigation.
He also emphasised Qatar’s support for diplomatic efforts capable of producing an agreement that would contribute to lasting peace in the region.
The talks come amid heightened regional tensions and continuing diplomatic initiatives by regional countries seeking to prevent further escalation.
Qatar and Türkiye have repeatedly emphasised dialogue and diplomacy as key instruments for addressing regional crises and strengthening stability.
