Istanbul Airport Maintains Global Aviation Leadership with More Than 48 Million Passengers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Passenger traffic at Istanbul Airport reached 48,068,524 in July 2026, maintaining its position as one of the leading aviation hubs globally.

According to Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the figure increased by 2 percent compared with the same period in 2025.

Of the total number of passengers, 38,016,797 traveled on international flights, while 10,051,727 used domestic flights. International passenger traffic increased by 2 percent year-on-year, while domestic passenger traffic declined by 0.4 percent.

Cargo traffic at the airport also increased by 3 percent year-on-year, reaching 2,062,324 tons. International cargo traffic rose by 4 percent, while domestic cargo traffic decreased by 2 percent.

A total of 306,078 flights were operated from the airport in July.

Across all airports in Türkiye, passenger traffic reached 138,758,202, while total cargo traffic stood at 3,027,448 tons.
