BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Türkiye has said the newly signed Saudi Arabia–Türkiye–Pakistan defence pact is not aimed at any particular country, stressing that the agreement is intended to strengthen regional security and stability.
In a post on X, Turkish Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said the Mecca Agreement would enhance the three countries' shared security and collective deterrence.
"The Mecca Agreement, which is not aimed at any particular country, will strengthen the shared security and collective deterrence of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye," Duran wrote.
He added that the agreement would make a significant contribution to preserving peace and stability across the region.
The statement follows similar remarks by Saudi officials, who have also said the trilateral defence agreement is not intended to establish a military alliance or sectarian bloc.
