BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22. The President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, attended the International Conference titled “Cross-border Heritage and ASEAN Shared Cultural Heritage: Values and Regional Cooperation”, which was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, TurkicWorld reports.
The event was organized by the National Heritage Service of the Republic of Korea in cooperation with the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP).
Delivering a report entitled “Regional Cooperation on Shared Cultural Heritage in the Turkic Cultural Sphere: The Turkic Shared Heritage Catalogue”, President of the Foundation Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova emphasized the growing role of international cooperation in the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. In her speech, she highlighted the Foundation’s activities aimed at the systematic documentation of shared cultural values of the Turkic world, their transmission to future generations, and their promotion on international platforms.
Within the framework of the conference in Seoul, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation presented the First Multilingual Catalogue of Turkic Cultural Heritage – “The Cultural Code of the Turkic World”, prepared by the Foundation in accordance with the strategic documents “Turkic World Vision – 2040” and TURK TIME. It was noted that the Catalogue was first introduced to the international community on November 4, 2025 in Samarkand, during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, while its presentation in the Republic of Korea marked an important stage in the project’s further international promotion.
The project lays the foundation for the formation of a Common List of Turkic Heritage and the creation of the digital platform TurkicHeritage.
The activities of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and the presented concept received high recognition and strong interest from conference participants, including representatives of ASEAN countries, international organizations, academic circles, and government institutions. Particular attention was given to the Foundation’s contribution to strengthening intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and trust among peoples.
The participation of the Foundation in this forum clearly demonstrated that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is expanding its international ties and strengthening cooperation not only with Europe, but also with Asia, the Pacific region, and the global community as a whole, thereby opening new horizons for presenting the rich heritage of the Turkic world at the global level.
