BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. New polling stations will be set up in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Rovzat Gasimov said at the CEC meeting in Baku today, TurkicWorld reports.
The meeting has put forward the idea to open up eight more polling stations in the liberated territories.
The proposal was brought to the table and given the green light.
Thus, 34 permanent polling stations will function during the parliamentary election.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The extraordinary election is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
