BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7 Hamas has described the stabbing of an Israeli settler in the occupied West Bank as a “legitimate response” to what it called ongoing Israeli occupation and attacks by extremist settlers.
In a statement, the Palestinian movement referred to the incident as a “heroic operation” and said it mourned the Palestinian man who carried out the attack. The Israeli military said its forces shot the attacker while he was in his vehicle.
Hamas said Palestinians would not remain passive in the face of what it described as aggression, settlement expansion, displacement and actions targeting Palestinian land and holy sites.
The group also called on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem to intensify what it termed resistance against Israeli settlement, annexation and displacement efforts.
The statement comes amid continued tensions and violence in the occupied West Bank, where clashes and attacks have remained a major source of concern alongside the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
