BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. During his visit to New York, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev held a series of bilateral meetings.
During a meeting with Jan Szyszko, Head of the Polish delegation and State Secretary at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of the Republic of Poland, the parties discussed the legacy of WUF11 held in Katowice, as well as the contribution of the outcomes of WUF13 in Baku to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the advancement of sustainable urban development globally.
The parties highly appreciated the five existing sister-city partnerships between Azerbaijan and Poland, noting that these partnerships provide a strong foundation for expanding the exchange of experience in urban planning, sustainable development, and local governance.
Anar Guliyev noted that the dialogue would help elevate Azerbaijan–Poland cooperation in the field of urban planning to a new stage and create momentum for advancing new joint initiatives both bilaterally and within international platforms.
